Spray bottle, 50 cents |
Sometimes, after twisting my hair into a loose bun, I’ll look in the mirror and think “Damn, that actually looks good!” It’s in these rare moments that I’m tempted to use a bit of hairspray, but hairspray strikes me as such a toxic substance that I can never quite bring myself to buy a can. So I was pleased to discover that homemade hairspray works just as well for my purposes. You chop up a lemon and add it to two cups of water, simmer it until it has been reduced by half, then transfer the strained, cooled liquid to a spray bottle. It will keep in the fridge for about two weeks.
