Astrology books, apparently, were out. But there's generally plenty of astrology books at your typical Salvos store.Amy Choinoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2539433954832681919.post-90467811728260721182011-04-27T19:48:03.160+10:002011-04-27T19:48:03.160+10:00Vinnies actually have pretty stringent rules about...Vinnies actually have pretty stringent rules about what books they will and won't sell. All rejects are trashed.
Fortunately, the staff usually ignore instructions or aren't capable of implementing them - but I don't think you will get many devil worshipping books there.Paul Perrynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2539433954832681919.post-68861494135949852472011-03-23T22:25:39.867+11:002011-03-23T22:25:39.867+11:00Hi Bendigo Thrifter, thank you for your kind words...Hi Bendigo Thrifter, thank you for your kind words. I often think a good solution is to have regular fill-a-bag-for-$5 days, but it seems to be only the little op shops that do those.Amy Choinoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2539433954832681919.post-72388772805360464222011-03-23T21:28:58.202+11:002011-03-23T21:28:58.202+11:00Hi Amy,
Love reading your blog. Thank you!
How sad...Hi Amy,
Love reading your blog. Thank you!
How sad to see the books in the recycling bin. It seems a shame and I know what you mean about not being able to buy everything but it doesn't mean it's rubbish.
I think it would be great if thrift stores should give people an opportunity to take away things as free first before throwing them away completely. There's lots of things I like making with old books and I wouldn't feel as bad to chop up the books if I knew they were destined to be pulped anyway. I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to ask next time. Everything deserves a chance of a second go before it goes to the bin.
All the best!
-Bendigo ThrifterAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2539433954832681919.post-42486554581697336282011-03-23T18:08:45.421+11:002011-03-23T18:08:45.421+11:00its different, not certain that it will be my new ...its different, not certain that it will be my new thing, but definitley not a bad thingDarrenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17837701001184229548noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2539433954832681919.post-57455749081264178452011-03-23T08:29:35.502+11:002011-03-23T08:29:35.502+11:00Well I hope you're enjoying this whole new wor...Well I hope you're enjoying this whole new world!Amy Choinoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2539433954832681919.post-17680372574970260102011-03-22T22:09:05.137+11:002011-03-22T22:09:05.137+11:00Amy this is a whole new world of stuff for me than...Amy this is a whole new world of stuff for me thanks to Mark DDarrenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17837701001184229548noreply@blogger.com
