Wardrobe, $60

I’m currently living in a house with open plan bedrooms upstairs. This doesn’t suit the children as they don’t like having to share their beds with the cats, but as we’re renting I can’t put in plasterboard and a door. So I bought this wardrobe, knocked out the back and positioned it over their doorway, then piled books and boxes on top to plug up the remaining space. I feel almost as handy as a friend of mine who once “made” a coffee table by sawing the legs off a dining table. And no, turns out Narnia isn’t a magical parallel world at all but a messy girls’ bedroom.
