Hand-cranked torch, $1
My mother wasn’t too happy when I told her I was moving to the Macedon Ranges Shire. She could understand that my boyfriend and I needed to live closer to his new workplace, but she didn’t see why we had to go semi-rural. Why not move only as far as Bulla? “Why Bulla?” I wanted to know. “There are still street lights in Bulla,” was her reply. True enough, but what the country lacks in street lights it makes up for in trees, hills and stars. I do, however, need a torch now if I want to check the mailbox after dark.
